The Proposal

Since my parter “Brendan,” and I got engaged 3 weeks ago, I’ve had plenty of people asked me how it happened, so I thought I better share the details on my website.

Let’s just say it’s been a crazy few weeks, it all started when we knew we had our handover of our brand new house. On the same day that we got our keys to our new house, Brendan asked me to marry him.

After 6 years of being together, once the handover had happened, he asked me to come out to the pool area, (our pride and joy) and as soon as I opened up the gate I had a feeling that something was about to happen. He got a little weird, he told me that he was going to push me in the pool, then he was like, “na, just kidding, but there is something else.”

He got nervous, I got nervous, then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Initially, I was like “Woah!” I was speechless (which we know is a first.) I also may have said a few choice words then of course I said, “YES!”

After that moment, we were both laughing hysterically, trying to understand what just happened. Then he said to me “shit, you did say yes, didn’t you?”

30 Minutes later we knew we had all our brand new furniture being delivered. So, we were screwing furniture together using the alan key in one hand and the phone in the other making all the calls to our close family and friends to tell them about the engagement.

Safe to say I can’t get enough of my ring, so much so, you’ve probably noticed the crazy amounts of Ring Cam’s I’ve been doing. It catches the light, it’s absolutely amazing and now I’m so stoked I get to organise a wedding!

Since our breakfast show started on Hot 91.1, 2 years ago my co-hosts (Dave & Sam) have given me so much crap about not being engaged LOL!

So, I couldn’t wait to share the news with them and the Sunshine Coast, LIVE on air the next day.

So if you have any tips on venues, budgets, planning etc. I’d love to hear from you!

Anyway, No doubt there will be more ring cam’s on my Instagram. The question is, when is everyone gonna get sick of them? Not me!
